Hello everybody!
This last post is a little bit special as I have to give my opinion about this project. The first thing I woulk like to say is that I discovered that marketing is a very powerful tool. In fact, companies use a lot of different ways to attract and convince the consumers and the potential customers.
Thus, marketing is everywhere in our daily life : on TV, in the street, in our e-mails....so it is part of our environnement and sometimes we forget that it is so present in our life.
One of the difficulties I encoutered was to find the information I need for example the recent TV commercials of Coca-Cola and Pepsi and to include them in the blog.
One the other hand, I do not have the feeling that my posts interest a lot of people. Maybe I should have chosen a subject more attractive.
Moreover we had to send posts on a regular basis but it was quite difficult to send them each week because sometimes I did not have time or I forgot or I did not know what to send so it was not very easy to post new subjects regularly.
I think it is better to discuss about a large variety of subjects and not to focus on a company marketing strategy.
I hope some of the posts interested you...and see you soon on another blog!

Coca-Cola and endorsement
Some companies use endorsement in order to attract more consumers. For example, Britney Spears endorsed Pepsi, Claudia Shiffer and Beyoncé Knowles endorsed L'oreal products. In fact, endorsement is very interesting in terms of marketing because the consumers identify themselves to the celibrity in the advertising.
Coca-Cola uses this marketing tool by signing endorsement contract with athletes for example.

Campaign to stop "Killer Coke"
Hi everybody,
one goal of an advertising campaign is to give the product a good image. But sometimes, some companies face problems which can have backlash on their business. Coca-Cola is one of these companies. I read interesting articles on the internet dealing with Coca-Cola's problems. One scandalous affair took place in Colombia : an employee was killed in a plant.....If you want to know more click on this link: http://killercoke.org/. There are articles and petitions to download...

A lot of products!
Besides using the red (known as being one of the most interesting colour to use for marketing), Coca launched products which consumers can use in their daily life. It is a common strategy in marketing. In fact a lot of companies sell products like bags, shirts or mugs. But the most original in my opinion are Coca-Cola ties. You can see them below! Nice aren't they?
But Coca-Cola proposes other products such as Polar bears (aimed at children especially), ice boxes, ballons and more.....

Junk food.....Junk drink?
Yesterday I saw a TV programm on obesity, diets and junk food. In fact, more and more people eat in fast food such as MacDonald's and Burger King and everyone is focused on the health consequences of this type of food. Moreover even companies which sell drinks are facing this problem so they have to adapt their marketing strategy to the consumers' needs. It the case of Coca Cola. In fact, Coca Cola is known as a drink in which there is a lot of calories(approximatively 20 pieces of sugar). Consequently they launched products especially aimed at consumers who want to control their weight. You can see them on this link : http://www2.coca-cola.com/presscenter/imagebrands.html. Do you think companies must be more involved in the health problems or their consumers, like Coca Cola does,or should they continue to sell products which are bad for health? From a marketing point of view is it more effective to have a more "ethical" strategy? Post me some comments!

An interesting article of Coca -Cola!
Yesterday I read an interesting article dealing with one aspect of the marketing strategy of Coca-Cola : "Consumer and Localization". In fact, the article explains that one important thing in an international marketing strategy is "Think Local Act Local". That means that Coca Cola has a different approach of each market worldwide.Even if this article is not recent (April 2000), it enables to understand that the key point of a global strategy is to respect each country's culture.

Me.....Myself and I....
Hello everyone!
My name is Erika Johnson and I live in France. I am a second-year student in the business school of Le Havre. As every student who study business, I am very interested in marketing because it enables us to understand how the companies try to convince us to buy something.
As marketing is a very large subject, I decided to give you a presentation of the marketing strategy of Coca-Cola.
In fact, it is one of the most popular drink. Personally, I use to drink Coca-Cola everyday. It is automatic now! So did Coca-Cola use magic things to tranforme me into a daily consumer or is it the result of a very well-defined marketing strategy? That is what I will try to discover trought this blog.
I hope this subject will interest some of you....and do not hesitate to post your opinion.
Enjoy surfing on my blog!
